Pencil to Passion

Many times after ten years people become tired of doing what they do. They don’t know or follow their passion. This story is a classic example of how you can turn your passion into success. 

Nigerian artist Arinze Stanley in his Childhood has the habit of playing with papers since his family was running a paper industry. Day by day this habit put a seed in his heart that naturally came out as a great drawing Portraits. Drawing portraits already takes an incredible amount of patience and skill, but Nigerian artist Arinze Stanley has decided to make his task even tougher and stick only to simple monochrome pencils. 

He spends over 200 hours on each of his portrait drawings, and even though his works are beginning to earn him some sort of acclaim and recognition, he said he doesn’t consider himself “as successful just yet” since he’s still refining his skills. ‘Practice, Patience and Persistence’ are his motto, and quite frankly, all of his works embody those three words, particularly patience and persistence. 

How else would an artist create intricately detailed works such as his? It is really commendable that he never attended any art classes till today; he just kept practicing on his own that’s the power of inspiration. His dream is to create an institution that would help harness people innate talent in art, and in other creative fields.
